This piece of art was created in 1119. Circa the First Crusade 1096 - 1099. It was painted based on the Battle of Ager Sanguinis during the First Crusade. The artist of the artwork is unknown. The painting shows Muslims defending against the Christian invaders that were attacking.
“Many people were killed. The Jews had gathered in their synagogue and the Franks (Christians) burned them alive. They also destroyed the monuments of saints and the tome of Abraham, may peace be upon them.”
This chronicle was by Ibn al-Qulanisi circa the First Crusade 1096 - 1160. The date it was written is unknown but it was around the early twelfth century. The quote, although short, shows the Christians as killing innocent Jews and destroying sacred monuments, important to all three religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism. The Christians were brutal and violent during these times towards the Islamic and Jewish people.
This artefact was Muhammad al-Idrisi's map of the world. Jerusalem was drawn at the centre of the map. It was drawn for Roger II of Sicily in 1154. The map shows that Muslims beloved Jerusalem for their religion. The centre of their worlds.
